Mercy Connections is now hiring Marketing Instructor and Business Management & Professional Development Instructor

The Women’s Small Business Program has been helping aspiring entrepreneurs create or expand their business ideas for over 25 years. Using the framework of a business plan, students learn the language of business and build outstanding networks along the way.  More than 1,500 women have graduated from Start Up and approximately 150 businesses owned by our alumni are active in the community.

The Women’s Small Business Program Start Up: Comprehensive Business Planning Class is seeking two dynamic instructors for its semester-long comprehensive, entrepreneurial business planning course.  You will be part of a highly-engaged teacher team charged with instructing and coaching aspiring entrepreneurs who are engaged in creating micro businesses; you will instruct and coach students in the development of their business plan teaching from your area of expertise, marketing or business management and professional development.

Teaching positions are approximately six hours per week. The class is offered twice per year, with 15-week semester-based cycles.

Marketing Instructor (full position description)

The Marketing Instructor will have experience with the process of assessing the marketability of an idea to successfully transition into business ownership. You will teach all marketing aspects of the business plan including:  product description, customer profile, competition analysis, primary and secondary market research and analysis, pricing and promotion, and marketing strategies.

Business Management & Professional Development Instructor (full position description)

The Business Management & Professional Development Instructor will teach all aspects of the business plan related to micro business creation and management, including: statement of purpose, business description, plan of operations, exit strategy, and more.  In addition, you will assist students in developing skills needed to be a successful business owner. 

Our ideal candidates will have experience teaching / facilitating adults in a non-traditional classroom environment, knowledge of the business plan process, and personal experience in entrepreneurship.
