In this program, you will learn how to welcome new possibilities, by setting your mind toward growth and change. Come develop meaningful goals and strategize how to navigate obstacles. Citizenship & Academic One-on-One Tutoring

United States Citizenship Test Preparation (via Zoom & in-person)

Mondays Noon-5:00 pm (by appointment) or Thursdays from 9:00-10:30 am (by appointment), 9/21-12/16, with Melissa Lang & Tutors

Adults can sign up for 1.5 hour blocks of time to work with tutors one-on-one to prepare for the U.S. Citizenship Test. Students will study United States history, government, and geography. Each class includes practice questions and answers from the U.S. Citizenship Test and time to practice English Language Learning skills. REGISTER

English Language Learning (ELL) & One-on-One Tutoring

Tuesdays 12:00-3:00 pm (by appointment), 9/21-12/16, with Melissa Lang and Tutors

Adults work with tutors one-on-one to improve skills in reading, writing, math or English Language Learning (ELL). Each student is provided an individualized education support plan. REGISTER

Developing Self (via Zoom)

Monday & Wednesday 10:00am- Noon, 9/27-10/27, with Heather Gilbert

This class offers a great first step on a new journey to overcome life’s challenges. You will learn to reflect on experiences, and re-frame their impact on your future. Participants will reconnect with core strengths and values, and gain a new sense of belonging. REGISTER

MAP! - Make an Action Plan (via zoom)

Tuesdays 10:30 am-Noon, 9/28-12/7, with Heather Gilbert and Kelly Moran

Come make an action plan to get ahead with the life you want to lead after the pandemic. Guest speakers from organizations will be invited to the class so you can build community connections, while learning about and developing your own SMART goals. Then implement your plan in this supportive class, with assistance from the instruction team. REGISTER

Pens & Pages (via Zoom)

Thursdays 1:30-4:00 pm, 9/23-12/16, with Melissa Lang

Adults in this class will read, write about, and discuss the theme of African-American Experiences in the U.S. We will read the fictional novel, "The Vanishing Half" by Brit Bennett. Writing exercises will encourage creativity and reflection. Students will support each other through intentional listening and focused feedback. REGISTER

Mercy Marketplace (via Zoom)

Wednesdays 2:00-4:00 pm, 9/29-12/8

In this multi-week, supported, vendor-training program, artists and crafters will learn the basics of business: including pricing, inventory management, sales, customer service, and how to use e-commerce to sell their products online. At the end of the course, students will have the opportunity to participate in an online sales event supported by Mercy Connections, to showcase their work and put their newly-developed skills to use. Quickbooks Online (QBO) for Beginners

This class is for the small business owner who understands the value of business finances and knows that Quickbooks is a powerful tool, but isn't really sure where to start.  During our 2-hour session, you will gain knowledge and confidence and enjoy the camaraderie and commiseration of fellow business owners in the same situation. REGISTRATION FOR FALL SEMESTER IS CLOSED. The Women’s Small Business Program (WSBP) has provided business education to entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs since 1989. This semester-long course helps women gain knowledge and build skills critical to having a successful business. Using the framework of writing a business plan, students learn the language of business and graduate armed with the knowledge they need to launch or expand their businesses.
