Mercy Connections to honor Sara Byers at Annual May Luncheon

Mercy Connections is pleased to share that Sara Byers, President and Co-Owner of Leonardo’s Pizza, will be this year’s recipient of the Catherine McAuley award.

Mercy Connections is pleased to share that Sara Byers, President and Co-Owner of Leonardo’s Pizza, will be this year’s recipient of the Catherine McAuley award. Each year the Board of Directors selects a person who exemplifies mercy values and the example of Catherine McAuley, foundress of the Sisters of Mercy. The award will be bestowed at Mercy Connections Annual May Luncheon on May 3, 2018.

“Walking into Mercy Connections for the first time was like walking into a ray of sunshine; it was warm, beautiful and nurturing,” Byers says. “It conveyed tremendous hope and empowerment. Leaving the Thursday lunch that day, I was changed.” Sara lives in Shelburne, Vt., with her husband, Kelly, and their daughter, Ella.

The 2018 May Luncheon, chaired by Dawn Ellinwood, Vice President for Student Affairs at Saint Michael’s College, will be held at the Doubletree by Hilton (formerly Sheraton Burlington Hotel & Conference Center) in Burlington, Vt., on May 3, 2018. The May Luncheon is underwritten by Vermont Gas and tickets for the event will go on sale in late February.
