Volunteer

(Vermont Women’s Mentoring Program) – Women+ can make a profound impact on the lives of other women who are transitioning out of prison or otherwise involved in the justice system. To become a mentor you must commit to a year of weekly contact with your mentee. Training for this program is a 5-week program offered twice a year. You do not need to have prior knowledge of the justice system or mentoring experience to participate, but you should be a good listener, be non-judgmental, and be at least 21 years old. Tutors are the lifeline for us to offer English Language Learning and U.S. citizenship test preparation to adult learners in our center. Our students are enrolled on a rolling basis, and we are always in need of tutors to work with them one-on-one, either in person or via Zoom.
